Note from Diane

To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke… to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him…”

Isaiah 58:6b-7a NKJV

Where do vulnerable women and children go who are transitioning from an abusive/addictivelifestyle to a new life where love, stability, and productivityare the norm rather than the exception? Tabitha’s Ministry was birthed as an answer to this pressing question. We arean organizationdedicated to providing a safe havenfor these women and their children that will minister to their spiritual and physical needs through an array of community services.

I am Diane Newkirk, President of Tabitha’s Ministry.  For years I have had the privilege of helping women and childrenthroughspiritual counseling;connecting them with the resources to live a life of true freedom. My vision and burden to help them has grown through working in crisis pregnancy centers, helping the needy by organizing and administering our church’s food and clothing ministry, and leading a children’s ministry for our church as well as Bible Study Fellowship of San Antonio.

Recently God has enabled me to see the vision of Tabitha’s Ministry take its first breaths of life after many years of labor. We have assembled a Board of Directors to include three local Pastors;a licensed social worker; a Sgt. Majorin medical administration who is EMT certified, trained in suicide intervention, a LPN, and is a certified Lean 6 Sigma black belt in business administration; a professional project coordinator; and a safety inspector. With over 150 years of combined social/ministry/business experience, we will do our best to use every resource God gives us to its fullest potential with the utmost integrity. Our by-laws are in place and our 501c3 application has been filed. We now face the giant step of resources to provide a safe place for these ‘at risk’ women and children.

Our Board of Directors prayerfully and financially support Tabitha’s Ministry but we must have the help of others to meet this pressing need. Please prayerfully consider supporting Tabithas Ministry. Each life we help rescue will change both time and eternity.

In His Service,

Diane Newkirk
